Crystal POS was founded by third-generation jeweler Michael Razny in 2020. He saw a gap and filled it.
Crystal POS is modern, the interface is clean, and because it was built by someone who actually runs a jewelry store, it covers serious ground. Repairs and custom orders work in a unified workflow, and the e-commerce layer is strong.
If you know anything about Jewel360, you'll see similarities. But there are gaps. Crystal doesn't publish pricing. It doesn't handle trade-ins, consignment, or layaway natively. And for jewelers who use any of those features regularly, the gaps matter.
Here's what Crystal does well, where it falls short, and what to look for if you need a jewelry-specific platform that covers the full workflow.
What Crystal POS Does Well
Although it's a relatively new player in the jewelry POS game, Crystal earns its place.
The e-commerce integration is robust. There's a native two-way sync with Shopify, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce, plus direct connections to jewelry-specific web agencies like Amptive, Punchmark, and Bluestar.
If you rely on online sales and you're already running on one of those platforms, Crystal's e-commerce layer is built for that.
They've also got a clean workflow for repair and custom orders. Crystal links repairs, custom orders, and service requests in a single screen, with clients connected to each job.
If your staff is managing multiple jobs, they can do so without context switching between views. That's a win for stores with high repair volume.
Serialized inventory is straightforward. You can track individual pieces with custom attributes by metal, stone, and style. Imagine it's Saturday in December — your store is packed, and a customer wants to see three specific solitaires in different cuts.
All your staff member has to do is pull up three cuts because the search filters are doing the work.
Last, customer profiles are thorough, including purchase history and automated milestone reminders for anniversaries and birthdays.
Customer relationship management (CRM) integrations with Client Book, Podium, and BirdEye are a nice touch for stores that use those tools.
Where Crystal POS Falls Short
While Crystal POS is a modern solution for jewelry stores, it does fall short in certain areas.
There’s No Stuller Integration
Crystal doesn't integrate with Stuller.
This is quite a big gap because many jewelry stores order from Stuller weekly or even daily. Without it, you have to manage vendor pricing and catalog updates outside your POS and then manually reconcile that data with inventory records.

Every time Stuller changes their prices, someone has to update your inventory by hand. Over a year, you'll waste a lot of time on something that could be automated.
Jewel360 connects directly to Stuller's catalog, keeping pricing and product data current without having to import anything. For stores where Stuller is part of the regular workflow, that integration alone changes the daily experience of using the software.
Pricing Isn’t Available or Transparent
If you go to Crystal's website, you'll see they don't publish pricing. There are no plan tiers, starting prices, or cost ranges. You'll have to jump on a sales call to find out what you need to invest.
Most software buyers want to know if they're in the right ballpark before they commit to a sales conversation. With Crystal, you have to do that math on your own time. It's not necessarily a deal breaker, depending on how you prefer to evaluate software.
Jewel360 starts at $199/month for the Startup plan, as published on our website.
Several Jewelry-Specific Features Aren’t Listed
Trade-ins, estate buying, consignment, and layaway aren't listed as features on Crystal's website.
We're not sure if they do have these features, but they're not listed. These aren’t niche services — they’re routine for most jewelry stores, and managing them in a separate system creates a lot of friction.
If you manage trade-ins and estate pieces, you know they require ownership tracking and pricing logic that generic workarounds can't handle. And layaway and payment plans are standard for higher-ticket purchases, but you can't offer them.
Third-Party Reviews Are Limited
Crystal launched in 2020, so the review base is still building. At the moment, there are no verified reviews on G2, Captera, or Trustpilot.
The testimonials on Crystal's website are positive — as you'd expect — but verified third-party reviews at the scale of Capterra aren't there yet. We're not knocking the platform — it's just the reality of where Crystal is in its life cycle.
If you rely on independent reviews to inform your purchase decisions, the data isn't there.
What Jewelers Need — and What Jewel360 Delivers
Jewel360 covers the full workflow most independent jewelers need, including the pieces Crystal leaves to workarounds.
With Jewel360, you can:
- Track serialized inventory down to stone attributes, GIA certificates, and bin locations. Every piece carries a unique serial number with complete history from purchase through sale or repair — so you always know where a piece has been and what it's worth.
- Manage repairs and custom orders with stage-by-stage tracking and automated customer notifications. Job templates, photo documentation, and status updates are accessible from any device and tied to the serialized item — not a standalone ticket.
- Handle appraisals, trade-ins, and consignment natively, with no separate system required. Appraisal documents are generated and stored in the platform, tied to the customer record and the specific piece. Trade-ins and estate items get their own records with pricing and attribution that keep your books accurate.
- Track layaway and payment plans from the first deposit through final pickup. Partial payments are tied to the customer's account and the specific item on hold, with no manual reconciliation required at the end.
- Connect directly to Stuller's catalog for up-to-date vendor pricing. Pricing and product data stay current without manual imports — for stores that order from Stuller weekly, that time adds up fast.
- Know what the software costs before a sales call. Pricing starts at $199/month with unlimited users, unlimited products, and month-to-month billing. There are no per-user fees or inventory caps.
- Get a dedicated Customer Success Manager from day one. Every new customer gets a Customer Success Manager who handles data migration, configures the system for your workflows, and trains staff before go-live. Unlimited phone and email support is included on every plan.

When Crystal POS Is the Right Choice
If your online store runs on Shopify or BigCommerce, and e-commerce is a primary channel, Crystal's integration is built for that. Or if you don't source from Stuller, the most specific gap isn't a problem for you.
Crystal's interface really is clean and modern. If you’re comfortable sorting out pricing and workflow specifics through a demo, Crystal's team has direct industry experience and a product that reflects it.
For stores in an earlier stage of building their tech stack who want to grow alongside a newer platform, Crystal is worth evaluating.
Other Alternatives Worth Considering
Jewel360 isn't the only alternative to Crystal. A few other platforms serve different parts of the jewelry market.
Pavilion ERP is the enterprise option in jewelry POS, built on Salesforce with CRM depth, business intelligence, and marketing automation that goes well beyond what jewelry-specific systems typically offer.
Most independent jewelers find it's more than their business requires, but for large multilocation retailers, the depth justifies the cost. See our full Pavilion vs. Jewel360 comparison →
The Edge is the on-premise legacy system that's been in jewelry retail since 2004, with deep inventory management and reporting built specifically for independent stores. It doesn't have cloud access, so all work happens from terminals inside the store — there’s no remote visibility or mobile access on the floor.
Jewelers who want a proven, locally-installed system with a long track record find it reliable, and it has none of the enterprise complexity or pricing of platforms like Pavilion. See our full The Edge vs. Jewel360 comparison →
Lightspeed is a general retail platform — not jewelry-specific — that comes up in jewelry store searches because of its omnichannel tools and Stuller integration through NuORDER. It handles selling across Amazon, eBay, and social channels well, which is useful if marketplace volume is a priority for your store.
The trade-off is that it wasn't built for jewelry workflows, so serialized inventory, repairs, and appraisals require more configuration than a purpose-built system. See our full Lightspeed vs. Jewel360 comparison →
Crystal POS vs. Jewel360: Which Is Best for Your Jewelry Store?
Crystal POS was built by someone who understands the industry. The e-commerce integrations are robust, and for basic jewelry features, it stands out.
But let's say you source from Stuller twice a week, or you take in three or four estate pieces and have two layaways active at any time — Crystal just can't handle it. And because of a lack of transparency, you won't know how much Crystal costs until you've already started a sales conversation.
